KWFinder Tutorial

Even if you are a beginner at SEO, you will find KWFinder simple to use.

To begin with, it gives you three options on how to search for the targeted word.

  • Suggestions  The most widely used option, and what every other keyword research tools is meant to provide. Suggestions will also show you many related keywords too.
  • Autocomplete – This works by incorporating results that Google’s autosuggest algorithm throws up, when you start typing in the Google Search Engine.
  • Questions – Somewhat similar to ‘Answer the Public’, this option will generate questions related to your keyword.

If you select any of the above options, you will see the results on the next page. The results are divided in to 2 panes, the left & the right.

In the below example, I searched for the keyword “scuba diving”.

KWFinder Tutorial - 1

The left pane shows you a list of keywords & the right pane shows you the top 10 Search Engine Results Page (SERP) results.

Let’s look at some of the important results:

  • Suggestions for your seed keyword
  • Google Trends for the keyword suggestions – showing how the volume of searches varies
  • Average monthly search volume in 12 months’ time
  • Cost per click (CPC) for advertisements based on Google AdWords
  • Pay per click (PPC) competition score on a scale of 1-100
  • Difficulty score for each keyword on a scale of 1-100
  • Top pages that rank for a keyword.
  • SEO metrics for each page (DA, PA, number of backlinks, Moz trust, Facebook shares, etc.)

This gives you an insight into choosing keywords where there is less competition and hence higher chances of achieving the SEO success.

For local SEO, you can even narrow down the search to a specific language, country or even city.

As I said earlier, you can use filters to tailor the results that you can see.
